The play Four is based on the excerpts from Chapayev and Pustota, a novel written by the legendary Russian author Victor Pelevin. The author himself once said that it is the first novel in the world literature of which the action is taking place in a complete emptiness. The interpretation by the director Kamilė Gudmonaitė is a combination of overlapping ideas, irony and paradox, where contemporary reality is mixed with Eastern cultures mythology, and where street culture meets spiritual reflections. Does this world really exist? How do we enter the eternal ecstasy? Is it possible to set ourselves free from the illusionary self-perception? The play full of Buddhist ideas of illusion narrates its story in simple words.
Joint project with a theater Utopia.
