The contest IDea of the National Kaunas Drama Theatre is back and awaits artists

The contest IDea of the National Kaunas Drama Theatre is back and awaits modern, creative and daring artists. This year the contest encourages selecting theatre based on dramaturgy but remains open to transdisciplinarity, innovation, and search of new forms. The only novelty is that from this year the door is also open to foreign artists. The contest is open for younger creators (up to 35 years old) that are ambitious, original, thrusting, and that want to leave their mark on the world! Both creative teams and individual persons can participate. The winner of the competition will be awarded the opportunity to convey their idea on the stage of NKDT.

Your vision will be reinforced financially and realized in the premises of the National Kaunas Drama Theatre.

The application will be assessed by a board constituted by NKDT theatre and VMU theatrologists as well as external experts. Results of the selected applications will be announced on 26 March. Creative sketch workshops are planned for the beginning of June at NKDT. Their success will determine if the project sketch becomes a realized IDea.
