Flickering distracts. Flickering draws attention. Flickering hypnotizes. Using different frequencies of flickering, it is possible to cause dizziness and nausea, neutralise resistance, destroy learning abilities, delete  individuality, create hallucinations and mystical experiences. The flickering of truth and lies enchants with its mysticism, providing an opportunity to discover something new about the world, different from what we have been taught before.

“The Flickering” is an interactive performance by young creators, a unique artistic happening on Facebook. It is an invitation to immerse in a virtual theatrical game, together with the actors of National Kaunas Drama Theatre, which aims to perceive the precarious modern world and our own reactions. The participants of the performance are constructing the network of messages, notifications, links, and discussions on a suggested topic. In the Facebook group, the viewers face a unique choice – either to participate actively, e.g., comment, discuss, present information, and influence plot turns, or to simply remain spectators.

Duration – 4 days. The action starts on Tuesday and continues the next four evenings, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The development of the action depends on how actively the viewers are involved. The flickering is a spell, fascinating the crowds with its mysticism. It is magic, which later forces the same crowds to do what is told. It is a mist, that puts giants to sleep.
