Matas Vildžius, based on The Old Testamen and works of Lord Byron
Winner of the festival IDEA2019, director Uršulė Bartoševičiūtė, working with playwright Matas Vildžius, explores the bloodline theme on the Cain and Abel murder, which was described in the Old Testament and the mystery Cain, written by the British poet Lord Byron. The director says: “The bloodline separates the stranger from the close one, relative. The bloodline determines moral and legal issues, by which we inherit shame, guilt, money, titles, assets, liabilities, and debts. The story of Cain and Abel in the Old Testament and the new play by Matas Vildžius contain many of the first times including the first murder.”
