Directed by a Latvian director Diāna Kaijaka, the performance explores themes of love, decision-making, motherhood, ambition, and loss. The entire focus is on one character telling a love story that begins as a stand-up comedy but ends in tragedy: the collapse of a family. A woman falls in love with a decent, intelligent, and cheerful man who gives her the space to grow both as a mother and a professional. She does not rush to find her place in life, and he does not rush her either. When she finally discovers her calling in the film industry and the children start attending kindergarten, the idyll starts to fall apart. This is a story about complex relationships, professional ambition, family life, and romantic connections. It serves as a warning, encouraging us to reconsider our commitments to each other and to society. It is a story about surviving the darkest moments, enduring grief, and holding onto humanity and hope. It is a story about the most beautiful and the most painful things a person can experience and endure.  

We often hear of adolescence or midlife crises, but this is a story about a woman’s crisis of growth. As the protagonist states, ‘We did not create society for men. We created it to stop them.’ Is this a feminist maxim, a maturity crisis, a search for a new identity, or perhaps a shocking reflection of the modern world?
