Marcello Lumaca
Lighting designer
Marcello Lumaca, was born in Parma, Italy, works worldwide as a lighting designer in theatre, performance and installation. He has worked with Robert Wilson in numerous productions such as “The Temptation of Saint Anthony”, “Persephone”, “The Lady from the Sea”, “The Old Woman”, “Letter to a Man”, “Garrincha – A street opera” and “Edda” from 2021-2022 “Dorian” at the Schauspielhaus Theatre in Düsseldorf. Moreover, he has worked with the British filmmaker and experimental artist Peter Greenaway for such theatre productions, installations or performances as “The Blue Planet”, “Children of Uranium”, “Leonardo’s Last Supper”, “The Marriage” and “Rembrandt’s Mirror”, as well as with the director Peter Stein in the productions “Penthesilea” and “Medea”. Among others, he has worked with the Italian architect Italo Rota (C25 Options of Luxury concept) and with the Royal Shakespeare Company on Derek Walcott’s The Odyssey. In 2016, Lumaca was responsible for the fashion event “Looking for Marni” and since then has continued to collaborate with Italian fashion houses. He collaborated with the architects and designers of the renowned CQS studio during Milan Design Week 2016 and 2017.
