Call for Proposals!
The 5th International performance competition IDea held by National Kaunas Drama Theatre, in Kaunas, Lithuania calls for contemporary, innovative and original concepts for a stage production from professional theatre producers, stage directors, or performance artists currently at the starting point of their artistic careers. The winner of the competition will be awarded with the opportunity to use the financial (up to 30,000 EUR), technical and human resources in order to turn the idea into an actual performance in National Kaunas Drama Theatre with the actors from the company of this theatre.
The ideas for production may be a staging of a classical or contemporary literary text or a devised, verbatim, documentary, participatory piece as well as physical, visual, interactive, or intermedia performance. There are no limitations as for genre, method or style of the proposed production however we encourage innovative cutting-edge artistic concepts that have already been developed up to the point of pre-production.
In the spirit of solidarity and willingness to sustain the links of our cultures and democracies through cooperation, we will give our preference in this year’s competition to the projects from Ukrainian artists.
