A premier MY FAIRY HERBARIUM

A talented young Russian botanist Alexander is charged with a secret task and travels to a distant, legendary French forest to look for special plants indispensable for the production of the immortality elixir. Having established himself in the hut-lab in the mysterious forest, he is all alone in the wild nature where he undertakes his research. From morning till night he observes various plants and examines their healing properties. One day he unexpectedly discovers… the creatures inhabiting plants. The incredible magic world of fairies starts opening before the scientist’s eyes. He eventually finds out that the strange tiny creatures are sentient, reasoning, and communicative beings who can cry, dance, or heal. Immersed in his astonishing discoveries, scientist Alexander grows fond of the magical forest inhabitants and springs to their defence when people aim to exploit natural resources ruthlessly. Two years later, the press reports a mysterious disappearance of botanist Alexander. What happened to the researcher? Has he discovered the immortality elixir? The children’s play “My Fairy Herbarium” directed by Povilas Makauskas, based on the story of French authors Benjamin Lacombe and Sébastien Perez, holds all the answers. The creative team offers a spectacular play bringing a wondrous and magical world of fairies onto the theatre stage. This spellbinding story reminds us of the truth that all human beings are part of a stunning natural world. The play invites us to foster a relationship with nature – flowers and trees, to pause, to listen, to look around intently, and open up to the magic of the natural world.
